1) Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.
2) Approval of Previous Minutes
Motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting was approved unanimously.
3) Reports
Finance
Bob Howlett reported that the combined balance of all accounts is $16,650.59.
Bookings
Pat O’Brien reported the following bookings / numbers of guests:
RCMP: 900 people
Dow’s Lake: 600 people
Carleton Place: 4 bookings (plus others that were not made through the online system)
Bob Howlett distributed the updated schedule for the Optimist Club weekend (July 7-8-9). A BBQ lunch (on Saturday) and water will be provided by FISF.
Membership: No report
Inventory: No report
Maintenance
Jack McArton reported that the RCMP boat needs new snap buttons for the cover.
Tom reported that the Carleton Place boat has a defective gas gauge, speedometer, tilt, and lights.
Fundraising
Peter Homulos reported that he and Bob Howlett volunteered at the Dragonboat Festival in the hope that organizers will consider making a donation to FISF.
Doug Ward continues to negotiate with Honda to obtain $10,000 for a motor.
Pat O’Brien shared the following information regarding the Annual Dinner Auction:
- The event will be advertised as the 25th Anniversary Dinner
- Catering will cost $23/pers (only $1 more than last year)
- The fundraising goal has been set at $10,000
- Ticket prices have been set at: $40/pers, $75/couple, $280/table of 8
It was reported that the Carleton Place Civitan Club will give Tom Baker a $250 donation to operate the boat. More funding may follow.
4) New Business
Peter Homulos reported that this year’s application to the Ontario Trillium Foundation will be for the purchase of only 1 boat.
Carleton Lodge made a $150 donation.
Captain Certification: Members agreed that site managers should be able to certify new captains.
ACTION: Peter Homulos will send out a notice to this effect.
